Matt Costa is releasing the lead track, “The Season” off his new album Mobile Chateau, out Sept. 21 on Brushfire Records. “The Season,” Costa said to Spinner, “always felt right to me for the beginning, because it falls into the sound…it embodied this record.”

Our friend Paula Fuga has appeared on Jack’s two latest releases En Concert and To The Sea and Jack has returned the favor. Her new EP was recorded at our Solar Powered Plastic Plant and Jack appears on two tracks (and Ziggy Marley appears on another.) It debuted as the #5 Reggae album on iTunes, so check it out.
Paula will be sitting in with Jack on his August dates, so the EP will be available for sale there as well.
Zee Avi will be releasing her latest EP, One More Time With Colors, on July 20th! The five-song EP includes one never-before heard track, “I Wish I Never” as well as four re-recorded songs off her critically acclaimed 2009 LP, Zee Avi.
One More Time With Colors was produced by Sunny Levine (Happy Mondays, Pete Yorn and Scarlett Johansson, Mickey Avalon) from Los Angeles, CA. Multi instrumentalist Yoad Nevo (Jem, Morcheeba, Goldfrapp) also mixed the song “Just You And Me.”
Says Zee:
”One More Time With Colors takes a selected few of the songs from the album into a different tone, setting, feel, color and mood. Not straying too far away from their original sound, but just enough to allow one to interpret them in any way they choose. The sporadic little accents that are added in each of these songs were an outcome of freely exploring the swatches of color of each song into further detail. These remixes were projected visions by Sunny Levine, Yoad Nevo and the musicians who helped create these visions. The one thing that I’ve always wanted for my songs to be is for them to be minimal enough for them to have enough freedom and room for growth. Enjoy!”
Last summer Zee played Bonnaroo and Outside Lands music festivals. This summer she will play alongside artists such as Mary J. Blige, Court Yard Hounds, Carly Simon, and Tegan and Sarah on Lilith Fair, starting July 27th in Cuyahoga Falls, OH.
She will also join Jack Johnson’s fall tour for an opening slot starting October 1st at General Motors Place in Vancouver, BC and ending October 14th at the prestigious Santa Barbara Bowl in Santa Barbara, CA.
It’s going to be a fun summer!!
Thank you to all of our fans for their support of Jack’s new record, To The Sea. It debuted last week as the #1 album in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, and Switzerland. The album also debuted in the top 5 in Austria, Germany and Japan.
The video for the first single “You And Your Heart” can be viewed on Jack Johnson’s YouTube Channel. If you haven’t picked it up yet, there are still some great packages available on Jack’s Online Store that feature a To The Sea Water Bottle and Towel.
Jack is touring Europe, North America, Australia and New Zealand through the end of 2010, and you can find tour dates here. Jack will be joined on the road by G. Love, ALO (supporting their new album “Man of The World” which was produced by Jack in his Mango Tree studio), and Zee Avi.
